Hey everyone! Yes, yes, I know it’s been a while since I’ve “graced” the keyboard and done some blogging for you all. But rather than deal with all the sappy welcome back greetings and excuses of where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing, how ’bout we just get right back into the swing of things and pick up where I left off! I promise I will do an update post of where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing though…just not right now. Haha.
Back to business. While I’ve had my issues with Urban Decay (mainly due to their “iconic” packaging of their primer potion), back in November (or December..it’s been that long), I broke down and purchased UD’s Book of Shadows Volume II. I was so impressed with it, that I decided to go for broke for their Alice in Wonderland palette that just came out. I guess it was so recently “just released” that my Sephora didn’t even have the palette out on display, and from what a few of you tweeted back to me, it sounds like ya’ll have had the same issue. Luckily, when I asked one of the customer representatives about the palette, she informed me that they didn’t have it out yet, but that they did have palettes in the back for sale, along with a tester palette already opened up and ready for me to stick my grubby fingers in (my fingers were clean…it’s just a saying :P).
Can you spot me? Haha
Of course, when she opened up the tester palette, she had to show me the whole pop-up fancy shmancy scene with the mirror. News flash!!! I don’t buy my makeup because of the packaging, so quite frankly, I really didn’t give a dang about the pop-up crap.
How about a rousing game of "Where's Francine?"

INITIAL IMPRESSION:
I’m rather on the fence about this palette. Some of the shadows are creamy in texture and wonderful in color payoff. However, some of the shadows have too much chunky glitter and are lack-luster in the payoff department. I’m not sure what my final outcome will be on this palette as of right now, but I intend on playing with it over the next few days and come back with a formal review and a final decision.

very lovely colors!
I personally like the packaging of this palette, hehe! I wont be *wasting* (not saying you did) my money on this palette though. All of the colors are just renamed and re-promoted old shades. I got a lot of good ones in my bamboo palette, so I’ll just buy singles of the ones that I want from UD. I love UD, but I really wish they would put more work into their limited edition collections. :(
I am the same way, I could careless about packaging =)
Hi! UD put up a post on the FB (if I recall correctly) and listed what all the colors are. For example: Jaberwocky is Oilslick, and Curiouser is Grifter. They are all their colors, just renamed. Half Baked, Twice Baked, YDK, Midnight Cowboy Rides Again are all in there as well. I was going to get the palette, until I realized I have at least 5 of the colors already in another palette.
All the colors in there are quite gorgeous though. Thanks for the swatches!
