Soooo, I got my late Christmas present from the hubby (and I got it earlier than I thought I would!). I have been wanting this palette for the past 2 years and I was finally able to get it all thanks to the hubby! Woohoooo for Christmas! Haha!
Anyhoo, here’s the lovely swatches I promised you all. These eyeshadows are super highly pigmented, which is very understandable when you take into account the fact that Ben Nye is a cosmetics company devoted to theater makeup, and that they’ve been around since the 1960s. It also helps that the cosmetics company was founded by the renowned Hollywood makeup artist Ben Nye (convenient name for the cosmetics brand, don’t you think?). The eyeshadows are soft and easy to blend, and because they’re so pigmented, a little bit goes a long way.
I got my Lumiere palette from Bubba’s Clown Supplies for $49 USD plus shipping and handling. The total for the order was $57.50 with S&H (I didn’t get charged for tax). I’ve noticed though, that Bubba has gone up in their price and they are now charging $54.00. All the same, $54 for 12 eyeshadows that are bigger than MAC eyeshadows and that have just as much (if not waaaayyy more) pigmentation than MAC eyeshadows, is not really a lot to spend. You’re definitely getting your money’s worth when it comes to this palette!

Hey… I’m a brazilian fan, and my english is very very bad… Sorry…
I saw your videos on youtube and just love it!
I’m descended from japanese… you have any hint of makeup for me?
Thanks and congratulations… You’re very talented!!!
Saw your tuts on YouTube… think you are amazing make-up artist!! Do you do this professionally?? How did come to become so talented?? What part of U.S. you from?
Can you do a navy smokey eye tut in the near future??
P.S. Have you used Kat Von D’s new eyeshadow line at all? Just got it, not sure how to work all the colors..
Thanks…
Jen
Here’s the answer to your questions. :)
I actually don’t do makeup professionally..unless you count when I do makeup on my friends and such. lol.
I basically just got the knack for makeup by trial and error and by attempting looks that I liked on celebrities.
I was born and raised in California, have lived in Hawaii, Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
I’ll add your request to my to-do list for the navy smoky eye. :)
I have been wanting to get one (if not both) of the palettes from the Kat Von D line (freakin LOVE her!), but I always end up talking myself out of getting one of them when I’m at Sephora and tell myself “Next time, Fran. Next time.” lol. Maybe the next time will really be the “next time”. :)
Very pigmented!
