Shaping Tips for Hooded Eyes

Here are some tips I got from “Eye Candy” by Linda Mason. These tips are geared toward those of you who have hooded eyes. So, for those of you who are Asian or have Asian descent, or who just happened to have hooded/monolid eyes or a heavy lid like I do, the following advice will come in handy for you! As I did with the previous post, I took pictures of the eye examples in the book to show here.

All of the following material is from “Eye Candy” by Linda Mason.

“Eyes with heavy folds, such as Asian eyes, require slightly different techniques to get the same effects. In all of the examples below, you need to extend the shadow from your upper lash-line over the fold. As you do your makeup, open your eye from time to time to see how far you’ve extended the shadow.”

To Make Hooded Eyes Look ROUNDER

"To make an eye with a heavy fold look ROUNDER, line the upper and lower lids with eye shadow and then blend the shadow over the fold, making it widest in the center of the lid."

"To ELONGATE an eye with a heavy fold, blend a deep eye shadow as shown. Don't place the shadow too far up the center of the lid, as this will make your eye look rounder."

To DEEPEN and ENLARGE an eye with a heavy fold, blend a very deep color from the upper lash-line over the fold and underneath the eye. Also, pencil the upper lash-line heavily.

To make an eye with a heavy fold LIFT UP, apply a darker eye shadow from the upper lash-line to the outer part of the eye. Keep the shadow much heavier in the upper outer corner and blend it gently outward and upward.

Hi, love your videos and am excited to find your site. I was wondering what color you used in the MAC sculpting powder. I noticed there were several different choices. I am fair skin toned.
